Lies Aimed at Disarming You :: 04/26/2023

Lies come in many shapes and sizes. Some are simple exaggerations. Some are absurd falsehoods. Unfortunately, we tend to believe a bald lie if it is expressed with enough emotion. That outrage also keeps viewers watching and clicking so the press is often more interested in outrage than in the truth. A lie doesn’t become the truth if it is repeated, but the lie may help politicians get re-elected if it is repeated by enough likely voters. We need to call out every lie we see even if that means calling “respected elected officials” liars. Congressman Jamaal Brown, you lie. Representative Jimmy Gomez, you lie. You lie because you say you want to save lives, yet you pretend that more gun-control laws will actually protect our kids. That is a lie and I’ll prove it right now.

Proof of Training Requirements Today’s 'Literacy Test' :: 04/25/2023

Washington State Gov. Jay Inslee on Tuesday signed House Bill 1143 which, among other things, mandates proof of firearms safety training within the past five years to purchase any gun, an expansion of the requirement included in Initiative 1639 back in 2018 that required proof of training before one could purchase a so-called “semi-automatic assault rifle.”

Gun-banning Murphy drop-kicked by "The Pew Pew Jew" over Warsaw Ghetto tweet :: 04/24/2023

Governor Phil Murphy, D-N.J., is not a champion of liberty, freedom, or anything having to do with personal responsibility. Aside from his extreme pinko ways, Murphy also has lashed out at the Supreme Court over the NYSRPA v. Bruen decision. After all, the good people of New Jersey have been dealing with the so-called “carry killer” law he signed just before Christmas, as a big “F U” to freedom. This is a guy that loves disarming people and hates rugged individualism. All of which should come into acute focus when reflecting over some tone-deaf comments the Murph made on Twitter yesterday about the 8oth anniversary of the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising.

Another year brings about another opportunity for gun control activists and their media lackeys to manipulate CDC fatal injury data to push a misleading factoid on children and firearms.

UPDATED: How mass killers pick out venues where their victims are sitting ducks :: 04/23/2023

Updated March 28, 2023: At some point, you would think that the empirical evidence would be overwhelming. When the Aurora, Colorado Batman movie theater shooter attacked, there were seven movie theaters showing “The Dark Knight Rises” on July 20th within 20 minutes of the killer’s apartment at 1690 Paris St, Aurora, Colorado, but the killer picked the only theater that had signs posted that it was a gun-free zone. His first target had been an airport but he worried about their “substantial security.” Similar stories have occurred at malls such as in Omaha and Salt Lake City or the Lafayette, Louisiana movie theater. Despite teachers carrying guns in schools in 20 states, all the shooting attacks at schools have occurred in schools that ban teachers from having guns. Given that people are allowed to carry their permitted concealed handguns in the vast majority of public places, if these mass public shootings were random, 95% or higher of these attacks would take place in areas where permitted concealed handguns were allowed. Instead the reverse is true, with 98% of those attacks taking place where general citizens are banned from having guns. At some point, it would seem obvious that these attacks aren’t random. The links below provide some information that these mass public shooters do consider this information when engaging in their attacks. A more detailed discussion is available in Dr. Lott’s book, The War on Guns. Original: Vince Vaughn explained what should be obvious to most people in an  interview in the UK edition of GQ:

Ralph Yarl shooting had nothing to do with Stand Your Ground :: 04/22/2023

Ralph Yarl was reportedly shot simply for ringing the wrong doorbell. Yarl thought he was at someone else’s home. That’s not a crime in anyone’s book. While answering a doorbell when someone’s at the wrong house may be annoying, it’s not criminal.

Rejecting the Premise That Universities Should Protect Students From Offensive Ideas :: 04/22/2023

Washington, DC – -(AmmoLand.com)- The last time I spoke at Cornell University, the turnout was tiny but attentive. Conservative commentator Ann Coulter, who graduated from Cornell a few years before I did, attracted a much larger crowd when she visited the campus in November, but her talk was repeatedly interrupted by loud and angry protesters, and she left in frustration after half an hour.

Bill introduced to stiffen penalties for theft from FFLs :: 04/21/2023

The Second Amendment is clear on its meaning. It’s doubtful that the number of infringements to the right to keep and bear arms get repealed to the point of saying “whoa, that’s too much freedom.” The right is impacted in many other ways, one of which would be the commerce of arms. The lawful commerce in arms is an important part of safeguarding the Second Amendment, but it’s also a risky business. On April 13th, 2023, a bill was introduced to “enhance penalties for theft of a firearm from a Federal firearms licensee.”

Democrats don't seem to enforce the gun control they have :: 04/21/2023

China seeks to profit from guns they decry :: 04/20/2023

I’ve taken aim at China and the Chinese state-run media’s fixation on seeing gun control passed here in the United States. It’s one thing to have opinions on the policies of another nation. It’s quite another to pretend that the voice of the media isn’t the voice of the government itself.

Baltimore State's Attorney telling tales about gun possession case? :: 04/19/2023

First off, a huge tip of the hat and round of applause for Baltimore Banner reporter Dylan Segelbaum for an excellent job of reporting on the rhetoric from Baltimore State’s Attorney Ivan Bates and the reality of a case involving a West Virginia man arrested for illegally possessing a gun in the city. Far too many local media outlets in Baltimore take a dim view of the Second Amendment and the right to keep and bear arms that bleeds into their reporting, but Segelbaum played it straight in his coverage of the arrest of Sean Hanratty and the ultimate dismissal of his charges.
