Lott blasts CDC over defensive gun use shenanigans :: 12/23/2022

The CDC isn’t likely to be on many gun owners’ Christmas card lists this year. Not after revelations that they removed defensive gun use statistics at the behest of gun control advocates. The decision to do that made it very clear that while the CDC may have been prohibited from advocating for gun control, that didn’t mean they wouldn’t help push it any way they can.

Gareth resigned from his school position in 2016, Nathaniel in 2020, and Stacey in December of 2021, reportedly because of the mandatory Covid vaccination policy. Both Nathaniel and Stacy were reported to be well-regarded in their schools before becoming radicalized.

Gun ban opponents predict civil disobedience :: 12/21/2022

What will happen if Illinois lawmakers end up approving a sweeping ban on semi-automatic rifles early next year? If you believe supporters of the ban, the state will magically become a much safer place as criminals suddenly discover a law that they’re willing to obey (unlike all of the current laws already in place). At a legislative hearing this week, however, opponents predicted that not only will violent criminals disregard any new state statutes, but many otherwise law-abiding gun owners will simply refuse to comply as well.

Constitutional Carry confusion leading to increased arrests in the Lone Star State? :: 12/20/2022

While gun control activists love to portray Constitutional or permitless carry as something that allows for individuals to “carry any gun, anywhere, at any time”, the truth is that these laws simply remove the requirement that a legal gun owner obtain a government-issued permission slip before exercising their right to bear arms. In every permitless carry state there are still plenty of laws governing the activities of those who are carrying, including those “sensitive places” where guns can be banned. And as it turns out, in the Lone Star State those laws are apparently being strictly enforced, because the number of people arrested for unlawfully carrying a firearm has exploded in recent months.

JSD Supply says "no thank you" to ATF’s cease and desist :: 12/19/2022

Last week Tom covered the cease and desist letter that JSD Supply received from the ATF on March 12, 2022. In the letter, the ATF admonished JSD Supply, owned and operated by Jordan Vinroe, over the sales of 80% build kits, and for having the potentiality of selling the rest of the tools and parts necessary to make a fully functioning firearm. In their letter, the ATF said that their order had nothing to do with the roll out of new regulations on firearm frames and receivers. With a collective eye roll, we all said “okay” to that. After doing some due diligence, JSD is saying “no thank you” to the ATF and has filed a temporary restraining order against the rogue agency.

Even the ACLU thinks Chicago's latest gun law is a bad idea :: 12/16/2022

It’s already against the law in Chicago (and the rest of the state of Illinois) to carry a concealed firearm without a valid license, just as it’s illegal to simply possess a firearm in your home without a Firearms Owner ID card. Those laws don’t seem to concern the city’s violent criminals much if at all, however, and on Wednesday the Chicago city council approved a contentious new ordinance that supporters say will put some teeth into state statute. Opponents, on the other hand, say the new measure is going to have a disproportionate impact on lower-income residents who simply want to be able to protect themselves with a gun.

Report: CDC buried study at behest of gun control advocates :: 12/16/2022

For years, we were told that it was wrong to prohibit the CDC from doing research on guns and gun violence. I argued that nothing prohibited them from doing such research, the laws in place just prevented them from anti-gun advocacy and that it was on them to decide unbiased research equated to advocacy.
