One Pistol In Jamaica Proves The Futility Of Gun Bans :: 07/13/2020
If gun control worked, Jamaica would be a true tropical paradise. The island nation has incredibly restrictive gun control laws, with fewer than 45,000 legally owned firearms among the nation’s 3-million residents, but the nation’s homicide rate is one of the worst in the world; 47 homicides per 100,000 people in 2018, compared to the U.S. homicide rate of 5 per 100,000. Of course, to hear anti-gun activists explain it, the reason for Jamaica’s violence is simple: it’s the lack of gun control laws in the United States that’s leading to violent crime in Jamaica. As the New York Times opined last year:
Chicago Politicians Should Quit Blaming Indiana For Their Criminals :: 07/12/2020
It’s been another violent weekend in Chicago, with at least five people killed in less than 24 hours between Friday afternoon and Saturday morning. Unfortunately, Chicago politicians like Lori Lightfoot and Rep. LaShawn Ford continue to complain about Indiana gun laws instead of focusing on Chicago’s violent criminals. Earlier this week Mayor Lightfoot called for a federal universal background check law that she says would keep criminals from buying guns in Indiana and bringing them back to Illinois, and now Ford is demanding a database that would somehow alert Illinois police when a resident buys a gun in Indiana.
New Study On Gun Culture Really An Attack On 2A Activism :: 07/11/2020
I think we can all agree that there is no monolithic “gun culture” in the United States. With 100,000,000 gun owners, it would be silly to assume that all of us are alike. Some of us own firearms for a variety of reasons, while others may be singularly focused on competitive shooting or self-defense. However, a new paper on the various varieties of gun ownership from researchers at the Boston University School of Public Health offers a grossly simplistic view of gun owners, and ultimately serves as just another attack on Second Amendment activism by anti-gun academics.
PA: Bill Over Armed Citizens In Emergencies Stirs Things Up A Bit :: 07/11/2020
The state of Pennsylvania has a bit of law that should be concerning to anyone who values the Second Amendment. In state law, there’s language that prohibits the carrying of firearms without a permit. Now, for many of us, this doesn’t sound like too big of a deal. There are several states that don’t allow that sort of thing, after all.
Progressives Think People Buying Guns Is A Loophole :: 07/11/2020
Not too long before the entire nation shut down due to COVID-19, gun stores started seeing a surge in sales. Many people who had never considered buying a gun in the first place decided maybe they should rethink it. Some were concerned about crime increasing due to the virus. Still others, Asian-Americans, were concerned ignorant morons would blame them for the disease. Still others had different concerns.
Alabama Arrests Signal Why Gun Control Will ALWAYS Fail :: 07/10/2020
Right now, millions of new gun owners probably have a lot of gun control advocates on their heels. After all, many of those have now found out just how much the anti-gunners have lied with regard to how easy it is to get a gun. Buy a gun on the internet? Nope, it still has to go through an FFL. Just grab and go? Nope, you have to get a background check. So many lies it’s not even funny.

Study Creates Term "Excess Firearms." WTF Are Those? :: 07/10/2020
Compared to many people I know, my collection of firearms is pretty modest. It’s enough for the media to freak out over if the police were to raid my house, of course, but not nearly as many as some folks I know.
The Hypocrisy Of Gun Control In Current Political Climate :: 07/10/2020
Gun control groups, not unlike the NRA, are single-issue groups. In theory, they support a single issue and typically don’t defer to a given political party except and unless that party tends to line up with that single issue. That means gun control groups tend to back Democrats, of course, but they’re not explicitly part of the Democratic machine.
Judge Andrew Napolitano: America, our personal liberties are being squeezed in a vise :: 07/09/2020
Last week, this column addressed the expectation of revolution and the exhilaration of freedom that pervaded the 13 colonies during the summer of 1776. This summer in America, we are approaching the end of a civilized and free society as we have known it.
Pittsburgh, Philly Mayors Pushing For Power To Impose Local Gun Laws - Bill Peduto :: 07/09/2020
Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania Mayor Bill Peduto has already tried and failed once in his quest to get courts to strike down the state’s firearm preemption law that blocks localities from imposing their own local gun control ordinances, but he’s back at it again, this time teaming up with Philadelphia Mayor Jim Kenney and anti-gun groups to support another attempt to undo the state law.
What Should We Do When Government Bureaucrats Kill? :: 07/09/2020
We saw armed police officers raid the wrong house and kill innocent people in their beds. That happened most recently in a home in Louisville, Kentucky. There, three undercover cops shot 26 year old Breonna Taylor to death during a midnight raid as she lay asleep.
White Gun Control Activists Just Can't Deal With Armed Black Protesters :: 07/09/2020
I discussed this a little bit with the Washington Examiner‘s Kerry Picket on yesterday’s Bearing Arms’ Cam & Co., but our conversation was almost completely focused on the media and it’s double standard of covering “right wing militias” and “left wing militias” very differently. Gun owners on the right, whether or not they have anything to do with a militia, are scary, dangerous, and probably racist to boot. Gun owners on the left? Well, they’re just gun owners. Their AR-15’s aren’t even “battlefield weapons of war,” just plain old “rifles.

Subway Folds on Open Carry After (Slight) Pressure from Anti-Gun Groups :: 07/08/2020
Subway subtly changed their policy to include a request that “guests (other than authorized law enforcement) refrain from openly displaying firearms inside restaurants — even in states where ‘open carry’ is permitted.”
The Constitution Failed :: 07/08/2020
Contrary to a certain nostalgic nationalist myth that still endures, the US Constitution as first conceived was never intended to limit government power. The primary purpose of the Convention of 1787 was to increase federal power, as the older constitution of 1776 (i.e., the Articles of Confederation) was regarded by centralizers as being too "weak." The older constitution was built on a consensus model, and required acquiescence from a supermajority of member states to do much. The overwhelming preponderance of government power lay with the states themselves, which were in their own right too weak to demand much from their citizens.
Gun-related online businesses bemoan growing Big Tech's suppression of the Second Amendment :: 07/07/2020
After Karl Kasarda's YouTube channel, InRange TV, was wiped without warning in early 2018, the firearm enthusiast said he had little option but to turn to posting clips and reviews on a platform of a different kind: PornHub.
Investigative Journalist: Here's How Blue States Implemented a De Facto Gun Ban on New Residents :: 07/07/2020
Well, if there is one issue that transcends the blue state-red state divide, it's the protection of one's home and family. Ever since the coronavirus lockdowns, folks have been flocking to gun stores. It got another shot of adrenaline when the George Floyd riots erupted, and it was appallingly clear that the police could not protect law-abiding citizenry or local businesses. Minneapolis burned. New York City descended into mob rule for multiple nights, along with rampant looting, arson, and assault on police officers. In Seattle, armed leftists seized portions of the city. No wonder why June was a massive month for gun sales, 40 percent of which are estimated to be new gun owners.
