Progressive DA Larry Krasner's office in chaos after 261 attorneys quit during his first term :: 12/24/2021

As you may have heard, shootings and murders are up around the country. That’s especially true in Philadelphia which had already recorded more murders this year than either New York City or Los Angeles. Progressive DA Larry Krasner’s response to that spike in violence has been denial. “We don’t have a crisis of lawlessness, we don’t have a crisis of crime, we don’t have a crisis of violence,” Krasner said earlier this month.

Retired generals scaremonger about armed insurrection :: 12/24/2021

For all the claims of insurrection, 1/6 was pretty tame as a full-fledged revolt. I mean, they broke little and mostly just wandered around the Capitol until they left and went home. There was no effort to hold the ground, eject Capitol police, or anything of the sort.

Annual reminder not to be stupid on New Year's Eve :: 12/23/2021

New Year’s Eve is a happy time of year. We mark the end of a year and look forward to the hope the next one brings. However, since the typical New Year’s celebration involves large quantities of alcohol, it also means the holiday brings plenty of opportunities to do something very, very stupid.

Anti-2A Forces Continue Their Push To Erode The Rights Of The People :: 12/23/2021

New York – -(AmmoLand.com)- The Arbalest Quarrel read with interest the NRA-ILA alert concerning New Jersey Senate Bill S. 3757 “that would force gun owners to store their guns and ammo under lock and key or face felony-level penalties.” We also read with interest and agree with the Association of New Jersey Rifle & Pistol Clubs’ Scott Bach’s well-written explication of the bill.

Left still upset over guns on Christmas cards :: 12/23/2021

When Reps. Thomas Massie and Lauren Boebert took Christmas-themed photos of their family, the usual suspects howled. They went on about how it was in poor taste because there’d been a school shooting–though no one has been able to tell me what the appropriate waiting period is–and then the furor seemed to die down.

Multiple arrests after Democrat Rep carjacked in Philly :: 12/23/2021

Five people are under arrest and facing charges after Democratic Rep. Mary Gay Scanlon was carjacked at gunpoint in Philadelphia on Wednesday afternoon; a very high profile example of how the city’s soft-on-crime policies are putting people at risk.

Mayor Lori Lightfoot moves to deal with Chicago's soaring violent crime :: 12/22/2021

Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot is never going to think that Bearing Arms is a part of her fan club. I think we’ve made that abundantly clear through the years, and I don’t see that changing.

Newsweek Warns Of Armed Takeover If Trump Loses In 2024 :: 12/22/2021

One of the most interesting parts of our system of government is the peaceful transfer of power. One government steps aside as a new one takes over, time after time. While some would argue that January 6th is an exception, the truth is that Biden still was able to walk into the White House without an army behind him.

Study confirms millions of new gun owners across U.S. :: 12/22/2021

At first blush, this research from a Northwestern university academic into new gun owners has a bit of a Professor Obvious feel to it. After all, we’ve known about the Great Gun Run of 2020/2021 since it started with the first “15 days to slow the spread” lockdowns. We get NICS numbers every month showing that demand is still sky-high, and a trip to your local gun store will provide visual confirmation that the firearm and ammunition market is red-hot. And most of us have at least one anecdote of a friend or family member who’s embraced their Second Amendment rights since the start of the pandemic. The idea that there’ve been millions of guns sold to first-time buyers in recent months makes sense, even without hard data.

Below The Radar: HR 6225 :: 12/21/2021

Chicago/United States – -(AmmoLand.com)- Loyal Ammoland readers rightly look forward to what they expect will be a favorable ruling in NYSRPA v. Bruen (the extent remains to be seen). However, they should not think that anti-Second Amendment extremists will give up. Far from it, if legislation introduced earlier this month by Representative Robin Kelly (D-IL) is any indication. This bill is one of the types of legislative attacks that NYSRPA v. Bruen, for all the good it will do, can’t stop.

Minneapolis sees fewer arrests as crime continues to rise :: 12/21/2021

The city of Minneapolis was ground zero for all the ugliness that marked the summer of 2020. Riots sprung up everywhere in response to the death of George Floyd, but they were really bad there. What’s more, a lot of other foolishness seemed to get sparked in that city.

Are The Parents of School-Shooter Ethan Crumbley to Blame? :: 12/20/2021

U.S.A.-(AmmoLand.com)- As this correspondent reads accounts of the latest media-inspired school shooting, there was an obvious theme: blame the parents. Convict them before any evidence is presented in court. Indict them with crimes seldom used in such circumstances. Declare they are fugitives in a “manhunt”.

D.C.'s abstinence-based approach to guns is having deadly consequences :: 12/20/2021

You know how much gun control advocates hate the old adage “guns don’t kill people, people kill people,” right? The left doesn’t like to talk much about the people who pull the trigger and take innocent human lives (though sometimes they’re more than willing to talk about their parents). They’d prefer instead to focus on the inanimate object. If you talk about banning or restricting guns, it helps to gloss over the fact that what you’re really doing is putting more people behind bars for non-violent, possessory “crimes” related to a constitutionally-protected right.
