Texas Self-Defense: Driver shoots man who was trying to smash his windshield at Arlington apartments :: 10/01/2015

A man was shot in the leg in Arlington overnight after police say he tried to break the shooter’s windshield.

Officers were called to an apartment complex in the 3500 block of Willowood Circle just after 11 p.m., our colleagues at KXAS-TV (NBC5) report.

According to police, a man was in his SUV when another man began smashing on his windshield with a large rock. The driver of the SUV shot the man before calling 911 from another location, police said.

Police told NBC5 the man who was shot was recovering in a hospital Wednesday morning. The other man was reportedly questioned and released because he said he fired in self-defense.

The shooting remains under investigation. The names of the two men involved were not released.
