Roseburg Police jailed a man following an alleged burglary Friday morning.
An RPD report said at about 6:45 a.m. victims and witnesses said their former neighbor Robert Nager was allegedly breaking the windows of a trailer with a large knife, in the 3400 block of Northwest Broad Street. The victim’s father reportedly chased Nager off with a warning shot from a pistol. Sheriff’s deputies found the suspect’s vehicle in the Peel area near Glide.
The report said Nager would not exit the house until a taser was deployed through a window. Nager ran out the back and was detained. Officers served a search warrant on the house and reportedly recovered two knifes.
Nager was charged with menacing, criminal mischief in the first-degree, unlawful use of a weapon and attempt to commit first-degree burglary. He was detained without bail.
