ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - Attempted robbery goes awry in southwest Albuquerque. A fast-food worker shot and killed a suspected robber at a Dairy Queen on Thursday evening in southwest Albuquerque.
Isleta Boulevard was closed off between Lopez Road and Bridge Boulevard.
The shooting occurred after an attempted robbery at a nearby Dairy Queen, 427 Isleta Blvd. SW. The attempted robbery took place at about 6 p.m.
The robber was taken to University of New Mexico Hospital with gunshot wounds and eventually died. The robber was shot by a Dairy Queen employee in self-defense, according to BCSO.
No other injuries were reported.
Bernalillo County deputies are investigating.
