The Village of Cassopolis Police Department responded to an armed robbery at a gas station Thursday, where a male suspect was shot several times.
When police arrived to the gas station, they were met with a man holding a suspect at gun point.
The suspect attempted to rob a Marathon gas station at 221 South Broadway Street around 10 p.m., according to Cassopolis Police Chief Todd McMichael.
The suspect was taken to the South Bend Memorial Hospital in stable condition, according to police.
Police officers also located the suspect's vehicle at the scene, and arrested a female for possessing methamphetamine, Chief Todd McMichael said.
The man who shot the male suspect did have a valid Michigan concealed pistol license, according to police.
Police are still investigating the incident and are witholding any names, pending any court arraignments.
Cassopolis Police were assisted by the Cass County Office of the Sheriff, the Pokagon Tribal Police, the Central Cass Fire Department, and the Pride Care Ambulance Service.
