Father Uses .357 Magnum to Stop a Suspect Who Was Robbing His Daughter's Home :: 08/08/2014

A burglary suspect found himself in the hospital and then jail after choosing the wrong Baton Rouge, Louisiana home to break into earlier this week.

The owner of the home that Bem Sampson, age 19, allegedly broke into was out of town. However, the home was not unprotected.

The father of the woman who owned the home just happened to be driving by to check on the home when he noticed something was amiss.

The man, who was armed with his .357 magnum revolver, got out of his vehicle and entered the home to investigate. Once inside, he came face to face Sampson and brief struggle ensued.

During the altercation, Sampson was shot once in the arm by the father. He managed to flee the scene, but police quickly took him into custody nearby. He faces charges of burglary and battery.
