We have returned from the Great American Outdoor Show in Harrisburg!
What a wonderful opportunity for our organization to get out in front of new audiences. FOAC-Institute is better known to more Pennsylvanians and Americans from other parts of the country. While there, FOAC-Institute leadership built and strengthened relationships with other organizations of like mind in order to work together to advance the cause of liberty and the protection of our most basic right; the right to keep and bear arms to protect ourselves and those that we love.
The officers and board want to thank the volunteer FOAC-ILLEA Members who gave of their time, talent, and treasure to help set up, staff and tear down the booth.

“It’s not if they are going to attack, it’s just when they are.”
That’s what Ohio’s Butler County Sheriff Richard Jones said after attending the National Sheriffs’ Association Conference in Washington, D.C, held Feb. 3-6, according to the Journal-News. At the conference, FBI officials warned sheriffs from across the country about imminent terrorist attacks on the U.S.
“There are people already here who have come to this country who hate us and want to kill us,” Jones warned. He’s on a mission to make sure his department is prepared.

During the GAOS, Klint Macro, FOAC-Institute VP presented the How To Train To Be Your Own Family First Responder seminar on multiple days. Quite a few FOAC-Institute members made it out to see the presentation as well as many fellow Pennsylvanians and other Americans from other states. Klint recorded the Saturday, February 10th presentation and is making it available to FOAC-Institute members and subscribers. This is the shortened version of the seminar. Klint will be presenting the full 2-hour version of the seminar at the NRA Annual Meeting in Dallas, TX later this year.

With all the concern about assault weapons since the federal ban sunset in 2004, it is interesting to see what a small share of murders are committed with any type of rifle and how even that share has fallen over time.

A shooter who was killed by off-duty police officers after opening fire at a Houston megachurch while seemingly using a 7-year-old child as a human shield has been identified as a woman named Genesse Moreno, who police said also identified as a man named Jeffrey Escalante.
Police said a woman in her early 30s entered Lakewood Church on Feb. 11 wearing a trench coat and backpack, armed with a long rifle, and began firing.
Before managing to kill anyone, the shooter was taken down by two off-duty officers, one a Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission agent and the other a Houston police officer, according to Houston Police Chief Troy Finner.

Did you know that (according to the US Census Bureau) 154.6 million people allegedly voted in the 2020 Presidential election?
Did you further know that currently there are an estimated 393 million “civilian owned” firearms in the United States.
Did you even further know that in 2023 there was an estimated 82,880,000 individuals who owned at least one gun in the US?
According to NBC News, 52% of voters (those that are registered to vote and do vote) say that they own a gun or live in a household with a gun?
No matter how you juggle the numbers, one must ask, “How in the hell are anti-gun politicians getting into office?”
The answers are varied and can include laziness, apathy, disbelief, denial, and a little election hanky-panky here and there. I believe the biggest reason is a complete disrespect for the real threats to our 2nd Amendment.

The 2A Rally in Harrisburg is still being planned and details are being finalized, but the date is Tuesday, April 30th. Take the day off and organize a group of those from your sphere of influence and get to Harrisburg. I will explain more about this year’s rally and how you can help in the next edition of the FOAC-Institute newsletter… in the meantime, PLAN TO JOIN US IN HARRISBURG.

FOAC-Institute is continuing to fight for the hearts and minds of our fellow Pennsylvanians to promote individual liberties and freedoms. We are steadfast and resolute and dedicated to protecting our Constitution and advancing the cause of the 2nd Amendment and Article 1 Section 21 of the PA Constitution.
FOAC-Institute’s educational efforts are expanding across the Commonwealth. FOAC-ILLEA volunteers are teaching more concealed carry classes each month and additional virtual education events are forthcoming.
FOAC-Institute is continuing to fight in the courts. Whether this means new litigation to challenge local tyrants, fight the bureaucrats that make it harder for Pennsylvanians to exercise their most basic rights, or the funding of amicus briefs to support others who are already involved in court battles, we are actively helping to establish case law that will help advance the cause of liberty.
FOAC-Institute volunteers research proposed legislation, consult with experts, and offer advice to elected officials about legislation as well as educate the public on the strength or folly of legislation that could have lasting positive or negative effects upon our liberty and the liberty of our children.
