A burglary Saturday at a residence on the 2600 block of Aster Street was thwarted when the homeowner shot at the intruder at 5:33 a.m. When a police officer arrived, he was told by the homeowner about the incident.
The homeowner did not know if the intruder was hit but did tell police the suspect — about 5 feet 9 inches tall and wearing a black or dark hoodie with his face covered — left the scene running north on Aster Street.
After investigating the scene, police did not locate the suspect nor determine if the suspect had in fact been hit by the shot.
The homeowner apparently was not injured.
