Congressman Darrell Issa and Senator Charles Grassley told Attorney General Eric Holder in a new letter that the Justice Department, rather than live up to an agreement to provide full responses to questions about Operation Fast and Furious, is playing disappointing "word games."

The joint letter is the latest development in the on-going Congressional probe into the botched gun trafficking sting mounted by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. It comes on the heels of Sen. John Cornyn's blistering criticism of the ATF for announcing "promotions" of three key figures in the operation, discussed by this column here and here , though sources familiar with the ATF announcement say the trio actually got "lateral transfers" and no additional authorities.
