Leftist wonk blames GOP, NRA for shooting near baseball game :: 04/28/2022

The Republican Party has its issues. I don’t agree with everything they do or say on a number of issues, but on guns, they tend to get it right. The GOP screws up on it some, but not nearly as much as Democrats do.

There's No Such Thing as Ghost Guns :: 04/28/2022

Ever wonder why we are hearing so much about so-called “ghost guns?” Some may argue that the term “ghost guns” is used simply to scare people into supporting gun control. “Ghost guns” is the nomenclature used on people who don’t know any better.

FPC Files Lawsuit Against San Jose’s Unconstitutional Gun Insurance Scheme :: 04/27/2022

Today, attorneys for Firearms Policy Coalition (FPC) filed a new lawsuit in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California challenging the City of San Jose’s ordinance requiring gun owners to purchase liability insurance and pay a fee in order to exercise their Second Amendment right to keep and bear arms. FPC’s complaint argues that the mandate violates both the First and Second Amendments to the U.S. Constitution. A copy of the complaint in Glass v. City of San Jose can be found at FPCLegal.org.

Edmonds Preemption Victory Was Defeat for Everytown Anti-Gun Lobby :: 04/26/2022

Evergreen State Second Amendment activists had plenty of reason to celebrate the unanimous win at the state Supreme Court against an illegal gun control ordinance adopted four years ago by the City of Edmonds, but now there is an additional reason for gun owners to grin.

In a sometimes bristling letter to Joe Biden, veteran U.S. Sen. Charles Grassley (R-IA) has thrown down a gauntlet, advising the president, “It is disturbing to see Democrats refuse to take responsibility for the rising crime rate and find other people to blame, such as lawful firearms owners.”

How guns have become a huge issue in the PA Senate race :: 04/25/2022

Tonight the Republicans vying to replace retiring U.S. Senator Pat Toomey will square off on a debate stage, and I suspect that Dr. Mehmet Oz’s past support for new gun control laws will be a major line of attack for several of the candidates on the debate stage. Oz has been running neck and neck with former hedge fund manager David McCormick, but the first poll conducted in the state after Donald Trump’s endorsement of the celebrity doctor showed him with a three point lead over McCormick, with political commentator Kathy Barnette and former U.S. ambassador to Denmark Carla Sands the only other candidates polling in double digits.

Is Maryland’s Attorney General Ignorant or Dishonest? :: 04/25/2022

The Maryland Attorney General filed a recent amicus brief with the US Supreme Court. Attorney General Brian Frosh said that the state is justified in banning modern rifles because those weapons have been used to commit mass murder. AG Frosh mentions violent attacks that happened outside of Maryland. For some reason, the Attorney General failed to mention the far larger number of cases where honest citizens used a rifle for justified self-defense. If this is an omission then it is an oversight the size of the Grand Canyon.

Biden's war on gun not playing well with public :: 04/23/2022

President Joe Biden pays lip service to the Second Amendment. Most politicians do, of course. After all, they know that many Americans aren’t comfortable with a total gun ban, if for no other reason than it’s undebatable that the Constitution prevents exactly that.

Gun control activists insist that by reducing the supply of firearms available to criminals, we can dramatically reduce violent crime, though they’ve never been able to adequately explain how exactly that’s supposed to work in a nation with 400-million firearms, 100-million gun owners, and the constitutionally-protected right to keep and bear arms.
