Bill introduced to abolish NFA :: 07/23/2022
I’ve been sitting on news about the introduction of a bill for several days waiting for more details to come out. On July 15th, 2022 HR 8399 – To amend the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 to repeal the National Firearms Act was introduced by Congressman Madison Cawthorn of North Carolina. The bill, which rolled out without any press release or fanfare, is finally available.

The person that says “Ya know, somebody should do something about that,” and then decides to be that person. That doing something generally will be done with a zeal and proficiency like none other. As was pre-ordained, the House Judiciary Committee passed HR 1808 on to the full House of Representatives yesterday. The bill moved on after a party-line vote which was preceded by some of the most entertaining debate and testimony in recent memory. And by entertaining, we mean in a facepalmingly sardonic, end-of-the-empire kinda way.

The small town of Burillville, Rhode Island is gearing up for a big fight with the state government over the enactment of a new ban on so-called large capacity ammunition magazines. The new law, which is set to take effect in mid-December, requires all owners of magazines that can hold more than ten rounds to either permanently modify them to accept no more than ten rounds, remove the magazines from the state of Rhode Island, or hand them over to police. Anyone caught with a standard 17-round Glock magazine (or any other 10+ round magazine) after the law takes effect could face felony charges and up to five years in prison.
