Gun Control Is Re-Branded Gun Violence :: 04/25/2019

On January 9th, 2019, Dianne Feinstein introduced the Assault Weapons ban of 2019 to the United States Senate. In the authoritarian left’s endless attempt at complete social control, Feinstein has made it her goal to ban guns as small as the Ruger 10/22. Feinstein and her supporters justify this in the name of safety. While one may have sympathy for one’s desire for safety, basic logic refutes this claim. In fact, there is nothing that could make a physically weak person safer than a gun. It must be made clear that all gun laws are infringements. There is no compromise on fundamental rights.

The legalization of marijuana is an interesting issue right now. Federally, it’s considered an illegal drug, something you aren’t supposed to get even with a prescription. The reality is a bit murkier. Many states have legalized it for medical use, and some have gone so far as to approve it for recreational use.

At the state capitol in Augusta Monday, Maine lawmakers got an earful from both sides in a hotly-debated push to adopt a so-called “red flag” law, the generic term for legislation that would legalized Extreme Risk Protection Orders (ERPO) that allow people deemed to be “at risk” to have their firearms seized by police.

Why Doctors May Not Be Best Choice Of Voice On Gun Debate :: 04/24/2019

The National Rifle Association famously told doctors to “stay in your lane.” A number of doctors replied with images arguing that gun violence was, indeed, their lane. They argued that since they were the ones who dealt with its aftermath, they were a natural voice to speak about gun control.

Testimony Heard Over Maine's Red Flag Bill Proposal :: 04/23/2019

Red flag bills seem to be all the rage among the anti-gun crowd. It’s not difficult to see why, either. They’re arguing that it’s not really gun confiscation, after all. They’re just temporarily taking the guns of people who may be a threat to themselves or others. That’s something that most people can get behind, especially when they don’t understand the problems.

Defending Yourself From Criminals and Elected Officials :: 04/22/2019

Crime: In defensive training, we talk about concepts and principles of personal or family defense against a violent criminal. These may include awareness, avoidance, and collection and processing of information so that we properly identify an attacker and have an appropriate response.
