Defund the Police. Disarm the People. . .What Could Go Wrong? :: 06/17/2020

USA – -(AmmoLand.com)- After the unconscionable treatment of George Floyd in police custody, righteous outrage led to angry protests, which too often became violent riots. As the MSM told us they were all peaceful protests in many cases putative “protests” were simply cover for rampaging looting, arson, and vandalism.

The Media's Double Standard On Armed Americans :: 06/17/2020

The anti-gun bias in the media is nothing new, but we are seeing a new twist from some reporters these days. Guns are still bad, unless they’re in the hands of the Left’s new heroes at CHAZ in Seattle, or perhaps wielded by self-proclaimed antifascists. In that case, while gun ownership isn’t exactly praised, the guns and gun owners aren’t vilified either.

“We understand that ATF is currently considering restricting one arm brace model owned by over 700,000 Americans,” says Congressman Gaetz (R – FL). While this sounds like yet another cruel 2020 plot twist, TTAG spoke with Alex Bosco, CEO of SB Tactical (creator of the original Pistol Stabilizing Brace and the 800-lb gorilla in the space, both in sales and in legislative muscle). He explained that this is actually good news.

D.C. Police Figure Out A New Kind Of Gun Ban :: 06/16/2020

In the case of Heller vs. D.C., the district’s handgun ban was determined to be unconstitutional, that common classes of firearms cannot be banned–a fact that the Court needs to remember when it comes to assault weapons–and thus ending the long nightmare for residents. It also did wonders for many people throughout the country, giving them hope that our rights will be protected by the Court.

Everytown Pushing Police Reform, But Its Red Flag Laws Are Part Of The Problem :: 06/16/2020

I’ve written before about the contradiction between the “Defund Police” movement and the calls for new gun control laws, which, at the moment, is seeing a pretty large overlap between the two groups.

Problems With Study Claiming Gun Control Could Save Lives :: 06/16/2020

Recently, a new study was published that claimed three types of gun control laws could reduce firearm-related fatalities by up to 10 percent. Now, for the anti-gunners, this is big news. This is something they’re likely to jump up and down about and publicize until the cows come home. After all, many of these regulations are things they’ve been pushing for lawmakers to adopt for some time now.

The Left Isn't Anti-Gun, They're Anti-You Having A Gun :: 06/16/2020

Despite the onslaught of new gun buyers, some still want to push for more and more gun control. You’d think some would at least wait and see how the recent riots may have reshaped public opinion, but nope. They’re going to push forward.

Anti-Gun Activists Pushed By Tragedy Rarely Use Reason :: 06/15/2020

I’ve said time and again that I actually do understand how tragedies can spur many into looking at gun control. In the wake of a dear friend being killed in a mass shooting, I found myself questioning whether I’d been wrong about gun control for all those years. I didn’t question myself for very long because I already knew the answer, I knew that guns weren’t to blame for my friend’s murder. Instead, it was a people issue just like all the others.

Crime May Not Be Only Problem In Cities That Defund Police :: 06/15/2020

For some insane reason, there are people actually squalling on about defunding the police. While some try to argue that the term “defund the police” is really about reprioritizing where the money goes and stuff like that.

Horowitz: Conservatives get massacred by fake conservative SCOTUS :: 06/15/2020

Within 35 minutes today at 10 a.m. Eastern, what some thought was the most conservative Supreme Court of all time concocted a fundamental right to transgenderism in the context of labor law, erased the Second Amendment, and interfered with a state death penalty case, but declined to interfere with a California law that criminalizes law enforcement cooperation with federal immigration agents.

Stereotyping for Thee, But Not for Me: The Lawless States of America :: 06/15/2020

Mad Max was a movie franchise set in post-apocalyptic Australia.  The survivors, in the outback, were terrorized by a psychotic, violent bunch of motorcycle gangs.  The protagonist, a cop named Max, and his loosely formed force of police, called the Bronze, tried to stop them.  In the process, Max’s partner was burned alive and his wife and child murdered.  It is not a pleasant place or time to be alive.

California Assembly Advances Awful "Fix" To Microstamping Law :: 06/13/2020

For the past seven years, no new model of handgun has been available for sale in the state of California, thanks to the state’s bizarre microstamping law (which could soon be taken up by the U.S. Supreme Court) and its byzantine Roster of Certified Handguns that only allows new models to be sold if they come equipped with “microstamping” technology.

Johns Hopkins Report On Baltimore Homicides Is Bad News For Gun Control Fans :: 06/13/2020

If gun control worked, Baltimore, Maryland should be one of the safest cities in the country. Maryland requires applicants for a concealed carry license to show “good cause,” and self-defense isn’t considered a valid reason, so there are only a handful of city residents legally allowed to carry a firearm. Residents of the state are required to obtain a Handgun Qualification License before legally owning a pistol, and all firearms must be registered with the state.
