THE BRADY ACT IS UNCONSTITUTIONAL :: 03/24/2021
The Brady Act background checks have never prevented a crime nor criminal access to a firearm in the history of the Act and was never intended to: The Brady Act was and is intended to sucker citizens into waiving their RIGHT to keep and bear arms in exchange for a revocable government permission government has no lawful authority to issue or deny. The object is to make us as helpless as the citizens of other so-called “western democracies” where governments claim their citizens have “rights,” but in fact their rights are but government-issued privileges, revocable at any time whenever government deems it prudent or politically advantageous to do so. By contrast, under our Constitution, our rights are beyond the reach of government at any level.
FactCheck.org Tries, But Fails, To Validate Democratic Gun Bills :: 03/23/2021
FactCheck.org is clearly supportive of the current gun control bills which passed the House and are before the Senate - HR8 and HR1446. They also fail to understand many realities about the illegal acquisition and use of guns. This analysis of their post follows their headings.
SAF & Partners Challenge Tyrannical NJ Gun Laws With Federal Lawsuit :: 03/23/2021
BELLEVUE, WA – -(AmmoLand.com)- The Second Amendment Foundation yesterday filed a federal lawsuit challenging the constitutionality of the state’s restrictive gun laws, alleging in a 28-page complaint that “New Jersey laws…unconstitutionally restrict the acquisition of firearms.”
Senate Democrats Push For Gun Control About Power, Not Public Safety :: 03/23/2021
When the House of Representatives passed a pair of gun control bills a couple of weeks ago, Democrats sure sounded eager to take up the debate in the U.S. Senate. Majority Leader Chuck Schumer vowed to bring the bills to the Senate floor for a vote, declaring that the time for “thoughts and prayers” had passed in favor of substantive legislation that would save lives.
Was the shooting in Boulder, Colorado yet another attack in a Gun-free Zone? It looks like it may be :: 03/23/2021
The horrible attack in Boulder, Colorado, that left 10 murdered has predictably led to a call for more gun control. Within a couple of hours of the attack, even before we knew how the murderer obtained the gun, Democrats were already calling for more gun control. With Senator Chuck Schumer promising to push the background check bills that had already passed the House (see quotes below). Again, the debate ignores whether this attack, like almost all the other successful attacks, occurred in a place where guns are banned. The unsuccessful attacks occur where people are allowed to carry guns.
Gun waiting periods rare in US states but more may be coming :: 03/22/2021
Not long before the deadly Atlanta-area shootings spread fear and anger through Asian American communities nationwide, police say the attacker made a legal purchase: a 9 mm handgun.
Shots Fired During Portland's "No Bullet Weekend" :: 03/22/2021
Shootings in Portland, Oregon doubled last year compared to 2019, with nearly 900 incidents reported. In the first nine weeks of this year, nearly 200 shootings were reported, which puts the city on pace for an even higher total than last year. Portland Mayor Ted Wheeler and the Democrats in charge of the city certainly haven’t helped, with officials slashing the police department budget by $16-million and axing a task force designed to target the illegal use of guns in the city. Though the Portland Police Bureau has set up a new “Enhanced Community Safety Team” that’s reactive in nature; responding quickly to shootings after they’ve taken place, the violence has continued at unprecedented rates.
The Folly of Sen. Feinstein's 'weapons of War' Ban :: 03/22/2021
U.S.A. -(AmmoLand.com)- The U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee is holding a hearing on gun control. There will be blustering about the need for background checks for gun sales, closing so-called “loopholes” and getting “weapons of war” off the streets. Before the inflated labels get thrown around, it’s important to know the facts.
Becerra Admits California Gun Registration A Failure :: 03/21/2021
Gun registration is a terrible idea. While I get that many anti-gunners really somehow think registering firearms will somehow magically make criminals unlikely to use a gun, it just doesn’t work that way.
Homicides Up 300 percent In Oakland, But City Plans To Slash Police Budget :: 03/21/2021
Just a few months ago, the defund police movement was gaining traction in many cities across country, but the popularity of the idea appears to be waning, particularly in cities that have seen a sharp rise in violent crime coinciding with a “reimagining” of policing. In Minneapolis, the push to defund police is meeting growing opposition from residents who complain that their neighborhoods are being turned into war zones, and a national poll released last week found just 18% of respondents were in favor of the movement.
Open Carry Opponents Keep Making Dumb Arguments :: 03/21/2021
Lawmakers in the South Carolina state House approved a measure this past week that would allow those who possess a concealed carry license to also openly carry in the state, but not before some incredibly specious arguments were made in opposition. We’ve already highlighted the supposed civil rights attorney who claims that the bill would somehow be unconstitutional, but the bad arguments against the measure just keep coming.
The Kids Are Alright: Pandemic Spurs on Youth Hunting :: 03/21/2021
The priceless memories created from a hunting trip with dads or moms can stay with sons and daughters for a lifetime. Creating more of those opportunities has become even easier.
Biden Lied About WH Pot Policy. Why Trust Him On Guns? :: 03/20/2021
My colleague Ed Morrissey has an interesting piece over at Hot Air on the abrupt about-face coming from the Biden administration regarding their policy about previous use of marijuana among staffers that also bears some consideration when it comes to Biden’s proposed gun ban. After first being told that previous pot use would not be a disqualifying factor for a job in the administration, dozens of applicants disclosed that, yes, they had inhaled at some point in their lives.
Father JAILED for Not Addressing His Daughter as a Boy :: 03/20/2021
“You fundamentally can’t change sex,” said ex-“transsexual” Alan Finch in 2004. “Transsexualism was invented by psychiatrists.” Yet a judge in Canada apparently not only thinks she knows better, but is trying to force a father to facilitate his 14-year-old daughter’s “gender transition.”
ATF Agents Showing Up At Homes of Unfinished 80 Percent Gun Frame Dealers, Don't Let Them In :: 03/19/2021
The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) Agents from the Baltimore Field Office have been visiting the homes of buyers of large quantities of Polymer80 frames and kits.
California Gun Sales Skyrocketing, Media Asks Why? :: 03/19/2021
California has a reputation as the most anti-gun state in the nation and for a very good reason. It’s hard to imagine too many gun control measures that wouldn’t gain support in the state. They don’t like guns there unless Hollywood is the ones with them and you’re not going to change their minds about it.
When Domestic-Violence Prevention Collides With the Religion of Guns :: 03/19/2021
American conservatives’ peculiar attachment to Second Amendment absolutism and what can only be described as a religion of gun ownership isn’t only manifested in stubborn opposition to the mildest forms of free-standing firearm-safety legislation, it also pops up on other issues where compelling interests collide with the cult of the gun. That includes the supposedly bipartisan and cross-ideological cause of domestic-violence prevention.
FOAC Public Statement Clarifying Position on 80% Gun Parts & Sales :: 03/18/2021
Public Statement clarifying our position on behalf of the officers / BOD of Firearms Owners Against Crime.
Pennsylvania County To Declare Itself Second Amendment Sanctuary :: 03/18/2021
Much of the news we’ve reported out of Pennsylvania hasn’t been particularly good news. After all, the two largest cities are flexing their anti-gun muscles and the Governor is doing nothing to enforce preemption in the state, mostly because of his own anti-gun bias. There’s little reason to be excited if you’re a gun owner in the state.
Rasmussen Poll: Most Americans Support Voter-ID Laws :: 03/18/2021
H.R. 1, clearly designed to favor the Democratic Party, passed the U.S. House of Representatives recently, and is now under consideration in the Senate. Among the many provisions of the bill that would only make voter fraud easier and more likely is the provision banning states from requiring a photo ID before a person casts a vote. Instead, the bill stipulates that states accept a signed statement from individuals as the only proof necessary that the person voting is who he claims to be.
