Wisconsin Self-Defense: Sheriff identifies alleged Juneau County intruder shot by homeowner :: 03/05/2020

MAUSTON (WKOW) -- A man who allegedly tried to break into a town of Kingston home Wednesday before being shot by the owner has been identified by authorities.

Todd Parker, 21, Wisconsin Rapids, was shot several times with a handgun, according to the Juneau County Sheriff's Office. Responders airlifted Parker to the hospital.

Parker allegedly tried to break into a business in the unincorporated community of Mather before 4 a.m. Wednesday morning.

When he couldn't get inside the building, Parker allegedly went inside a home in the community. The owner confronted the intruder.

Parker left the residence, according to the sheriff's office, but soon returned. He tried to force his way inside while the owner was on the phone with authorities.

The owner had locked the door and Parker allegedly broke the window on the door after "yelling obscenities."

The owner fired a handgun several times.

The sheriff's office said it expects Parker to be cleared from the hospital soon.

From there, he will be taken to the Juneau County Jail.
