Why won't CeaseFirePA engage FOAC in a straightforward debate? :: 10/25/2013

A few of FOAC's members attended a PittsburghPublic Safety/Community Activism/Violence seminar the other night. Its of particular note that FOAC was not allowed to speak. We may have created a controversy! Kids are dying in Pittsburgh, violence in certain areas is real, and its deadly. Controversy? We may have suggested that jurists are too quick to release dangerous young men from jail, only to have them locked up again in a few days.

We took this opportunity to talk to line officers (who we will keep anonymous) who were looking over their shoulders to see if the Acting Chief was within earshot, and asked them what their greatest frustration is. Would you be surprised to find out that it's revolving door jurisprudence? We didn't think so. We even had a chance to speak with a very senior member of Pittsburgh's public safety community, who agreed that more laws will simply be ignored because, after all, criminals don't obey the laws we have now. We've invited that senior member to our FOAC meetings. Again, in the interest of keeping that person from catching hell at work, their name will remain anonymous.

CeaseFirePA was allowed to talk, and they spewed their new line--Universal background checks, and went on to demonize long guns. They were to have spoken last. Strangely, when they saw an FOAC presence, they moved up their time line, took one question from Sam Hurst (running for a Pittsburgh seat) that they couldn't tie to Universal background checks, and then they ran like rats leaving a sinking ship, ostensibly to attend another "pressing event". Your humble editor suggested we follow them :)

CeaseFirePA is much like an empty can. If you beat on it, it makes a lot of noise. Unfortunately, they won't engage FOAC straight up. Very likely because we will expose who funds them, and their real agenda. Disarming law abiding citizens. A complicit media shields them from criticism.
