Pastor Martin Niemöller (1892-1984) expresses his feelings regarding the the inactivity of German intellectuals following the Nazi rise to power and the purging of their chosen targets. "When the Nazis came for the communists, I remained silent; I was not a communist. When they locked up the social democrats, I remained silent; I was not a social democrat. When they came for the trade unionists, I did not speak out; I was not a trade unionist. When they came for the Jews, I remained silent; I wasn't a Jew. When they came for me, there was no one left to speak out."
History repeats itself, the nature of man has not changed and never will....For those of you in doubt, who think this doesn't apply to you, consider this......... When the Government banned high capacity magazines, I remained silent; I didn't own any.. When they came for semi-automatic rifles, I remained silent; I didn't own one and only used a bolt action rifle for deer hunting... When they came for the pistols, I remained silent; I didn't feel the need to carry or own one, I'm only a sportsman... When they came to my house to take my hunting rifles and shotguns; I had nothing with which to protect my family When I exercised my Right to Free Speech, they illegally searched my home and seized my possessions, I remained silent; as I was too afraid to speak out and there was no one left capable of protecting our Liberty....
