Washington Self-Defense: Moses Lake woman shoots suspected burglar during home invasion :: 09/13/2021

MOSES LAKE -- Police say a woman shot a person who allegedly broke into her home in the middle of the night on Sunday.

Police say the shooting happened at around midnight in the area of the 1400 block of Cougar Drive. Authorities were in the area tracking down a car theft suspect when they received a 911 call about a home invasion.

Officers say the caller reported that someone broke into her home and she had shot them in self-defense.

Police say they found the suspect leaving the home and medics transported them to the hospital for non life-threatening injuries.

Moses Lake Police say this was one of three shootings in the city over the violent weekend.

A Radel P. Llamas Jr., 24, of Moses Lakes, was shot and killed Saturday afternoon. Police say they don't have any information on a potential suspect.

On Sunday afternoon, police say someone fired multiple shots in the 2000 Block of Peninsula. There were no reports of injuries or property damage.
