Texas Self-Defense: Young robbery suspect shot dead by Houston man, police say :: 12/13/2019

One of two young robbery suspects was shot and killed during an attempted robbery in east Houston early Friday morning, according to police.

The pair, who are possibly juveniles, attempted to rob a man inside an apartment complex in the 12000 block of Fleming Drive, near the East Freeway, around 3:30 a.m.,  according to police. During the robbery attempt, the victim managed to pull a gun and shoot at the suspects, striking at least one of them, police said.

As the robbery suspects fled, one of them collapsed and was pronounced dead by paramedics. It is unclear if the second suspect was struck or captured.

Investigators with the Houston Police Department homicide division are investigating the circumstances.
