Texas Self-Defense: Suspected armed robber shot dead on SMU Boulevard by potential victim, police say :: 05/22/2019

DALLAS — A man suspected of an attempted robbery has been shot dead at an apartment complex near Southern Methodist University campus Tuesday night, Dallas police said.

Officers were called to the scene shortly after 9 p.m. at the Mockingbird Flats Apartments.
According to police, the homeowner, Justin Mcneely, 26, was found on the outside of the apartment complex with a gunshot wound. He told police he shot a man who tried to rob him at gunpoint. The robber was in the victim's apartment suffering from a gunshot wound, the victim told police.

Dallas Fire-Rescue was on scene and rendered aid to the suspect, who eventually died from his injuries. The man's identity has not been released at this time.

Moore was sent to a hospital, where he was treated and released. Moore agreed to speak with detectives and admitted to shooting the man.
Dallas police said the story supports the physical evidence found at the scene.

Moore was released pending a grand jury.
