Texas Self-Defense: Girlfriend allegedly shoots, kills boyfriend during domestic disturbance :: 06/08/2019

SAN ANTONIO — Police say a man is dead after being shot in the chest on the North Side.

According to a preliminary report, officers arrived to the scene just after 10:30 Friday morning.

The man, a 48-year-old man, was taken to the hospital with a gunshot wound to the chest. He later died.

His girlfriend, who police say shot him, told police he was assaulting her when she went to her room for safety.

The woman, 59, told police she feared for her life so grabbed her gun she kept in the room. She admitted to shooting him once, while he allegedly said he was going to kill her.

The case remains under investigation.

EARLIER -- Police are investigating a shooting on the North Side that could possibly be a case of self defense.

The shooting happened just after 10:30 a.m. at a home on the 200 block of Freiling Drive near Wonder Parkway.

Police said a woman shot her boyfriend in the chest a possible case of domestic violence. According to investigators, the boyfriend didn't live at the house.

The boyfriend was rushed to the hospital in critical condition.

The investigation is ongoing. No arrests have been made at this time.
