Tennessee Self-Defense: Victim And Suspect Shot In Overnight Home Invasion :: 11/18/2016

Memphis police say a man and a suspected robber are both in the hospital after a home invasion overnight. It happened about 12:15 a.m. in the 6100 block of Knight Arnold in Hickory Hill.

Investigators say the victim told them he got a knock on his door, from a man who wanted to talk to him about an accident a week before. The victim said they began arguing, when two other men came up and shoved their way into the home.

The victim told officers the men were all armed and began making threats and taking items from the home.

Police say the victim and the three men started shooting at each other. The victim and one of the suspects were hit. They don’t know if the other two suspects were struck as they ran away.

Both the victim and suspect were taken to hospitals in critical condition.

Police say they will release more information when the suspect is charged.
