Tennessee Self-Defense: Man Shoots Teenager in Self-Defense :: 02/01/2017

A Warren County High School student was shot to death Tuesday, January 31 during an incident on Spurlock Road near Blues Hill community.

Cannon County Sheriff's Department termed the incident a case of self-defense with the District Attorney's Office expected to making a ruling.

The student was identified as 17-year-old Scout Sullivan.

According to officials, Sullivan was spotted in the yard of a resident of Spurlock Road. The teenager, who said he was looking for a relative, was reportedly acting erratically. When the homeowner approached him to ask him to leave, the teenager became aggressive and cut the man with a pocket knife.

An armed neighbor, who witnessed the assault, intervened and Sullivan was fatally wounded.
