Sydney micro-jihad shows fallacy of gun free zones :: 12/17/2014

Yesterday, December 15, the urban pastoral atmosphere of Sydney, Australia was forever changed with the terrorist attack on the Lindt Cafe. After a long standoff, the jihadi was killed. The sheep dogs arrived and killed him, but with an unfortunate loss of innocent life. Sympathies to the victims and their families.

According to the BBC, Prime Minister Tony Abbott said:

Australia is a peaceful, open and generous society - nothing should ever change that and that's why I would urge all Australians today to go about their business as usual.

Yes, after the wolf is killed, we sheep soon go back to grazing. There is little choice to do otherwise in “gun-free” utopias. Australia created a tremendously large gun free zone, following the lead of their mother country, Great Britain.

Although the United States threw off the yoke of British oppression and added the Bill of Rights to the Constitution, some jurisdictions in the United States are now very much the same. These include California, much of New York, New Jersey, and Washington, D. C. Illinois has, until recently been numbered among those, but is undergoing a change due to court action.

Even in relatively free states such as Tennessee, petty potentates carve out little gun free zones such as Farragut Parks and Greenways while providing not even a semblance of security.

So, how does one deal with such disregard for the right to self defense? Avoid gun free zones whenever possible.

Then get involved and vote them out!
