Pennsylvania Self-Defense: PSP: Investigation Continuing After Frenchville Homeowner Shoots at Intruder :: 02/04/2021

FRENCHVILLE – The investigation is continuing after a Frenchville homeowner shot at an intruder who reportedly attacked her inside her home.

According to Clearfield-based state police, at around 1:41 a.m. Jan. 11, a 50-year-old woman attempted to turn her vehicle around in the homeowner’s driveway on Buck Run Road.

After her vehicle became stuck in snow, the suspect went inside the home, which had been left unlocked. The victim was asleep in a second-floor bedroom when she was awoken by a noise.

When she went downstairs, she saw the woman in her living room and “immediately” told her to “get out.” The suspect, however, refused and allegedly attacked the victim.

Both women engaged in a physical altercation, state police said, and the victim managed to fight off the woman by kicking and pinning her against the door with her legs.

The victim fled the residence and got a handgun from her vehicle; the suspect followed her outside and when she “came at” the victim, she reportedly shot at her.

The bullet grazed the suspect’s left shoulder, resulting in a minor injury. She was treated by emergency personnel and released, according to the report.
