Police in Tulsa, OK say a knock at a local resident’s door lead to a shootout in a residential neighborhood early Saturday morning.
The homeowner said he was playing pool with a group of friends in the garage attached to his home on East 36th Street around 3:30 a.m. when they heard a loud knock at his front door.
Concerned for his safety, the man brought his gun with him when he went to the front of the home to answer the door. As he opened the door, the suspect outside saw his gun and fled to a get away car nearby, firing shots at the homeowner as he ran toward the vehicle.
The homeowner told police he fired off one shot at the suspect that police say hit the driver of the getaway car. The driver, who arrived at the Broken Arrow Hospital suffering from a gunshot wound, is expected to survive.
Tulsa Police are investigating the shooting but say so far, no one has been arrested or charged with a crime in connection with the incident.
