Oklahoma Self-Defense: Homeowner Scares Off Hatch-Wielding Burglar In NW OKC :: 12/09/2017

A standoff situation in NW Oklahoma City ended after two hours when police discovered the suspect was not inside the home.

According to police, officers initially responded to a home invasion call near Wilshire and County Line Road, around 4:30 p.m.

The homeowner told police he had been away and when he came home, he discovered a burglar. He told police the burglar then came at him with a hatchet but he was able to get a gun out of his vehicle. It is believed that at that point the suspect fled. The homeowner though remained adamant the suspect was still in the home.

The home owner was treated at the scene but was uninjured.

Police describe the suspect as a Hispanic male in this 20's or 30's.
