Ohio Self-Defense: Police: Woman shoots man after he allegedly punches her and her baby :: 06/06/2021

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WSYX) — Police say they are investigating a domestic violence situation turned shooting in northeast Columbus Sunday.

Columbus Police said the shooting occurred around 2:30 a.m. in the 4200 block of Cleveland Avenue.

A Columbus Police lieutenant told WSYX that a man allegedly punched a woman and her baby in a domestic incident. The woman then reportedly shot the man.

Medics transported the man to OhioHealth Riverside Methodist Hospital in stable condition.

Officers said the woman sustained minor injuries. She and her baby were taken to Nationwide Children's Hospital to be checked out.

Police have not announced any charges as of 3 a.m.
