Ohio Self-Defense: Middletown woman fires gun into air as home break-in suspects flee :: 10/19/2017

After seeing two people trying to break into her home Saturday morning, a Middletown woman fired her gun into the air as the suspects ran away.

The woman, who lives in the 4800 block of Ronald Drive, told police she was asleep at 1 a.m. when she heard a noise at her front window.

She said she saw two suspects trying to get into her house through a window, according to a police report.

The woman went back into her bedroom and got her Taurus 357 firearm and fired one shot and yelled at the suspects as they ran off, according to the Middletown police report.

A Middletown police officer and his canine partner responded, but were unable to locate any suspects, the report said.

Police took possession of the woman’s gun and placed it into evidence on hold. Police told the woman they would keep a check in the area.
