Missouri Self-Defense: Police identify man described as armed intruder killed at Springfield home :: 06/27/2020

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- Police identified a man, described as an armed intruder, shot and killed at a home in north Springfield late Friday night.

Officers responded to the 2400 block of North Fremont around 10:30 p.m.

Investigators say Kenneth L. Clay, 36, of Springfield tried to enter the home of David R. Jones, 18. Jones told investigators Clay shot him in the foot. He then shot Clay with his own firearm, killing him.

Investigators say no arrests have been made. Detectives continue to investigate and are asking anyone who has information about this incident to contact the Springfield Police Department at 417-864-1810 or make an anonymous call to Crime Stoppers at 417-869- TIPS (8477).
