Missouri Self-Defense: Man killed in St. Louis may have been shot in self-defense, police say :: 05/30/2017

A man shot and killed early Monday in the Jeff-Vander-Lou neighborhood of St. Louis may have been killed in self-defense, police say.

The man, Pierre Sullivan, was shot in the 3200 block of Greer Avenue about 12:30 a.m. Monday, police said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities said Sullivan had been in the area the day before, causing a disturbance and threatening to kill several people. Sullivan returned on Monday, and was pulling a gun from his waistband when a 30-year-old man shot him, authorities said.

The shooter stayed at the scene and turned his gun over to police. Several witnesses supported the shooter's version of events, police said.

Sullivan, 37, lived in the 4200 block of West Cook Avenue in St. Louis.

The investigation is ongoing, according to authorities.
