Missouri Self-Defense: Bad Day: First Car Thief Wrecks, Then Shot Twice :: 05/05/2016

Think you had a bad day?

Consider the 17-year-old who showed up at a Kansas City hospital Monday afternoon with two non-life-threatening gunshot wounds.

He allegedly stole a car from a car lot on U.S. 40 about 1 p.m. Monday.

Less than 15 minutes later, he got into a two-vehicle car accident at 39th Street and Bruce R. Watkins Drive and his stolen car’s engine caught fire.

From there, he ran into a neighborhood in the 1600 block of East 38th Street where he allegedly tried to break into a home.

After the homeowner shot him twice, he ran away.

Naturally, police officers searched hospitals for gunshot victims and where his bad day finally ended in handcuffs.

Poor schmuck. Maybe he’ll have a better time of it in jail.
