Michigan Self-Defense:Saginaw police investigate two similar shootings just blocks apart :: 11/01/2021

For the second time in a week Saginaw police are investigating a similar incident, the shooting death of a would-be home intruder.

On Monday morning, police were called to a home on Babbling Brook Drive by a homeowner who said a man rushed toward the door when the homeowner answered a knock on the door.

Officers found the dead man face down at the door with multiple gunshot wounds.

Last week, a very similar scenario played out just four blocks away. The night of October 26th, a Fort Worth man named Adxel Melgar-Caceres knocked on a door on Oak Hollow Trail. The homeowner told police he shot Caceres when he forced his way in the door.

Caceres, too, was found dead right at the entry way.

Despite the similarity in circumstances and the fact the incidents were just blocks apart, Saginaw police say they are isolated events and not related to one another.
