Maryland Self-Defense: Man kills girlfriend's ex-boyfriend in apparent act of self defense :: 07/23/2020

ELKTON, Md. — A man killed his girlfriend's ex-boyfriend Tuesday night after allegedly being attacked and threatened at a home in Cecil County.

It happened around 9:30 p.m. in the 100-block of Cherry Hill Road in Elkton.

Maryland State Police say 56-year-old Glenn Culley twice came to the home demanding money from an ex-girlfriend who lives there.

A 63-year-old Delaware man who now dates and lives with the woman at the home, came out to confront Culley after he went into their backyard.

Culley allegedly threatened to kill the man before charging and knocking him to the ground.

While being assaulted, police believe the man pulled out a knife and stabbed Culley in self defense.

Culley died on scene.

Police later found a folding knife in the other man's pocket, and took him into custody.

He was later released without being charged. Prosecutors say the case will be presented to a grand jury to decide.
