Investigators said during the robbery, the three men pulled out a gun.

Officials said, shortly after, the man they were trying to rob fired his gun at the men, ran away and called police.

A neighbor told Channel 2 Action News she and her husband woke up to a knock at their door.

When her husband answered, she said Parks was standing there bleeding, asking if she had been hit by bullet. Before they could call 911, the neighbor said Parks collapsed on the steps.

“I mean, the whole building is shaken up. You see the parking lot is empty. Nobody wants to be here right now,” the neighbor said.

Officers think Parks was hit in the head by a bullet while trying to avoid the gunfire. At last check, she was listed in critical condition.
