MIAMI (AP) — Authorities say a man who was forcing his way into a South Florida home is in critical condition after the homeowner shot him.
Miami-Dade police Det. Alvaro Zabaleta said in a news release that the shooting occurred around 5:20 a.m. Tuesday.
Investigators say the man arrived at the home in a vehicle and began forcing his way inside. That's when he was shot.
Inside the house were a man, woman and two children. They were not injured.
The intruder was taken to Ryder Trauma Center at Jackson Memorial Hospital.
No other details were immediately available.
