In Glendale, Colorado, a 31-year-old man was shot and killed during an attempted robbery at the Top Colorado Pawn Shop on Thursday. According to reports, the alleged robber was on parole and had a criminal history, including a 10-year prison sentence for robbery in 2014. The Arapahoe County Coroner’s Office identified the man as Daniel Bright.
The pawn shop employee who shot and killed the alleged robber was identified as a 45-year-old jeweler who had been in a different part of the store when the robbery began. The jeweler reportedly approached the robber from behind and shot the bad guy.
The employee took Friday off, stating that he needed time to recover from the incident.
Anisov said the alleged robber came into the store minutes after it had opened, pointed a gun at the salespeople, and demanded that they open the jewelry case. Anisov expressed concern that the robber was not wearing a mask, saying, “Who knows, he might want to kill everybody.” Anisov also mentioned that someone had attempted to break into the store two weeks prior to the incident.
At 11:17 am, Deputies responded to the 8000 Block of E Mississippi Ave after receiving a 911 call asking for an ambulance and the police. The caller said a male who allegedly tried to rob the pawn shop had been shot. Deputies arrived on the scene and found a person deceased.… pic.twitter.com/B9eVYkDCFI

The shooting at the pawnshop highlights the growing need for law-abiding Americans to have increased ways to defend themselves and protect their loved ones. According to a recent report by the National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF), there has been a significant increase in firearm sales in the United States over the past two years. The NSSF reports that gun sales have surged in states since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic.
This surge in gun sales is likely due to the rising crime rates and the perception that law enforcement agencies are stretched thin due to budget cuts and defund-the-police staffing shortages. In some areas, police response times have increased, leaving citizens vulnerable and unprotected. As a result, many Americans are turning to firearms to protect themselves and their families.
Many Americans feel that they need to have the means to defend themselves. The recent shooting at the pawnshop in Glendale serves as a tragic reminder that we live in uncertain times and that individuals need to take steps to protect themselves and their loved ones.
Stay armed and vigilant.
