Casey supports US version of Argentina's Dirty Wars :: 07/01/2014

We received this reply from Senator Casey. What's next, our own version of the desaparecedos (the disappeared ones)? This man's thinking is frightening.

"Thank you for taking the time to contact me about S. 2445, the Pause for Safety Act of 2014. I appreciate hearing from you about this issue.

Senator Barbara Boxer of California introduced S. 2445 on June 5, 2014. This legislation would enable concerned family members and friends to file a gun violence prevention warrant or order. This gun violence prevention warrant or order, if granted, would prohibit persons who are reasonably believed to threaten harm to themselves or others from possessing, selling or obtaining firearms and require them to forfeit these firearms to law enforcement for the duration of the order. S. 2445 has been referred to the Senate Committee on the Judiciary, of which I am not a member. Please be assured that if the bill comes before the full Senate for consideration, I will keep your views in mind.

Again, thank you for sharing your thoughts with me. Please do not hesitate to contact me in the future about this or any other matter of importance to you.

For more information on this or other issues, I encourage you to visit my website, http://casey.senate.gov. I hope you will find this online office a comprehensive resource to stay up-to-date on my work in Washington, request assistance from my office or share with me your thoughts on the issues that matter most to you and to Pennsylvania.

  Sincerely,
  Bob Casey
  United States Senator"
