Despite promises to force the PSP to comply with public law, they're at it again. There was an article in today's PG about a Butler County man incorrectly labeled as mentally defective. Please give it a read, and read the comments that follow. Pennsylvanians are fed up with the draconian Gestapo techniques of the PSP, and also very upset that the Governor stands around with a big smile on his face, and fails to reign them in. Yet another example of the Gestapo tactics of the Pennsylvania State Police. THEY have THEIR records wrong, but YOU have to go to court, at considerable expense, to have the records corrected? This is the fantasy land of the PSP, where all ...are guilty until they spend their life savings proving they are innocent. Governor Corbett, to whom the PSP Commissioner reports, obviously has no sway whatever over the PSP, and to them, its business as usual. Commonwealth Statute says you can buy a gun from a dealer, and if you have a License to Carry a Firearm, you can forego the "paperwork", as you have already been vetted. The PSP simply writes a letter nullifying the statute. Please see Title 18, 6111, paragraph (f) (3) The provisions contained in subsection (a) shall not apply to any law enforcement officer whose current identification as a law enforcement officer shall be construed as a valid license to carry a firearm or any person who possesses a valid license to carry a firearm under section 6109 (relating to licenses).
