Arizona Self-Defense: Man shot by resident after allegedly breaking into home :: 08/28/2019

A man was shot early Wednesday morning after allegedly forcing his way into a resident’s home.

The Flagstaff Police Department arrived at the home on the 5200 block of E. Cortland Blvd. at 2:42 a.m. and found the man injured and unresponsive. After officers administered emergency first aid, the man was transported to Flagstaff Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.

Residents of the home reportedly heard banging and glass break in their home before confronting the suspect. The man, whose identity has not yet been released, was shot by one of the residents while another was on the phone with police dispatchers. Officers at the scene reported windows adjacent to the doorway were broken with glass located inside the home.

FPD has not confirmed the man's status or what charges he may face. This story will be updated when more information becomes available.
