SUMITON, Ala. (WIAT) - The owner of a Walker County business has reportedly shot a man after being assaulted, according to information from Sumiton Police.
Jason Freeman, 34, allegedly showed up to Walker County Recycling around 11 a.m. and began threatening the owner with a blunt object before the owner shot him. Freeman later died in the hospital, according to police.
At this time, it does not appear that the owner of the business knew Freeman, according to police. Investigators are currently interviewing witnesses, and the facts and evidence will be presented to a grand jury before a final judgment is made.
