Alabama Self-Defense: Suspected Home Invader Refuses to Leave, Is Shot Dead by Female Homeowner :: 06/25/2018

The sheriff in Geneva County, Alabama, says a suspected home invader was shot dead by a female homeowner Saturday night after he refused to heed her warnings.

WTVY reports that the unidentified suspect allegedly began beating on the woman’s door and refused to stop though she gave him numerous warnings. As he persisted she ultimately opened fire, killing the suspect.

Geneva County Sheriff Tony Helms said the incident occurred in a “remote area” and that the woman is not expected to face any charges for killing the suspect.

Stories of women defending their lives with firearms are more and more common.

On January 2, 2017, Breitbart News reported that a Wilmington, North Carolina, resident Kay Dickson was assaulted at gunpoint upon returning to her apartment. WWAY reported that Dickinson “had just gotten off work and was going into her apartment at Colonial Parke when she was attacked.” The suspect held her at gunpoint, “beat her and then tied her up with a broken belt in her bedroom.” She was able to free herself, retrieve her gun, and kill the suspect.

On April 23, 2017, Breitbart News reported that a St. Louis 7-11 clerk was taking a smoke break at 3:50 a.m. when an armed robbery suspect approached to rob her. The clerk pulled her own gun and exchanged fire with the suspect, shooting him multiple times. His wounds proved fatal. The clerk was also wounded but was in stable condition following the incident.

On May 27, 2017, Breitbart News reported that a female homeowner shot and killed a suspect who allegedly brought his seven-year-old son along for the home invasion. According to the San Antonio Express-News, the suspect allegedly tried to break in through a window in the very room where the homeowner was sleeping. The woman armed herself, and fired at least two rounds. The alleged intruder was transported to a hospital and pronounced dead.

On June 7, 2017, Breitbart News reported on an Indianapolis mother who protected her children by opening fire and killing a home invasion suspect who struck in broad daylight. The intrusion suspect died in the doorway of the residence.

On September 18, 2017, Breitbart News reported that a female accountant shot and critically wounded a suspect who entered her office while she was there alone. The suspect was being pursued by police when he entered and the accountant asked him to stop moving toward her before she pulled the trigger. He did not stop, so she shot him in the neck.

The examples of women using guns for self-defense goes on…
