According to police in Chicago, there’ve been at least 76 armed robberies in the city’s north and west sides over the past two weeks, with authorities describing teams operating with three to four individuals combing the city streets looking for their next victim. Early Saturday morning one crew stumbled across a lone man and must have thought they’d found easy target… not realizing they’d actually picked an an armed citizen who had both the motive and the means to fight back.

According to the Pennsylvania State Police at the Bedford station, Bedford 911 received a call reporting a home invasion and an assault in progress. The call was disconnected. After the call was reconnected, there was a report of shots fired.

The homeowner noticed a stranger walking on his property. This is an upscale neighborhood filled with large and widely separated two-story homes. In fact, earlier this year Bailey is believed by authorities to have set fire to a woman’s home in Greene County, but this week Bailey apparently showed up once again at the residence and this time, he managed to make his way inside.
